Cubs and Braves look for a win in series finale
The Cubs and the Braves have not started the season off particulary well. The Cubs are now 7-10 on the season and are fourth in the NL Central as they are only ahead of the disastrous Reds. There have been some bright spots for the Cubs though. Seiya Suzuki has been stellar for them. The Japanese import leads the team in home runs with four, walks with 13, and RBI’s with 13. He also holds a team-leading .456 on-base percentage and a .321 batting average.
The defending champs are also struggling to start the season. They are fourth in the NL East with a 8-10 record. They also received some bad news as Eddie Rosario will now miss 8-12 weeks with eye surgery after starting the season off horribly.
Drew Smyly and Kyle Wright will start this game. They have both been great to start the season as Wright has a 1.06 ERA and Smyly holds a 2.45 ERA. The first game of this series ended 3-1. I think this low-scoring continues. Plus, the Braves have scored less than five runs in seven of their last eight games.
