Cross Country battle to start the second half.

The Mets had a brutal first half after coming in with high expectations and the league’s highest payroll. They sit at 42-49 and are all the way down in 4th of the NL East. They strung together a few good series before the break and have one 6 of their last 10. The Mets need a monster second half and this is just the way to start.

The Dodgers will be battling for the top of the division all season as they sit in first place at 52-38. They ended their first half well winning 7 of their last 10 and catching Arizona in the division. They are not 1.5 games ahead of Arizona and would like to build a healthy lead in the second half. They haven’t been great away this season with a 23-22 record.

Take the Mets in this one. Although Scherzer hasn’t been himself this year the Mets are hoping to get what they paid for in the second half. Urias has been decent with a 4.51 ERA and 5-1 on the season. I think the Dodgers’ away struggles will show to start the second half and the Mets take it.
