Cross Country battle to start the second half.
The Mets had a brutal first half after coming in with high expectations and the league’s highest payroll. They sit at 42-48 and are all the way down in 4th of the NL East. They strung together a few good series before the break and have one 6 of their last 10. The Mets need a monster second half and this is just the way to start.
The Dodgers will be battling for the top of the division all season as they sit tied at the top at 51-38. They ended their first half well winning 7 of their last 10 and catching Arizona in the division. An away series isn’t a great way to start as the Dodgers have struggled on the road going 22-22.
Take the Mets in this one. Although Verlander hasn’t been himself this year the Mets are hoping to get what they paid for in the second half. Urias has been decent with a 4.76 ERA.
