Controversial Dodgers go into series against Reds
The Dodgers are coming off of a pretty controversial game in which they won 7-0 over the Twins. If I told you the score was 7-0 you wouldn’t really see what the problem was. But Dave Roberts pulled Clayton Kershaw from a perfect game bid in the eighth inning. Kershaw was coming off of injury and reportedly had a pitch limit of 80 but many in MLB circles think he should have definitely been left in.
The Reds have not started the season off too well. They are now 2-4 after losing back-to-back games to the Guardians. The Reds have yet to score more than six runs in a game this season.
The Dodgers will be pitching Walker Buehler in this game. The perennial Cy Young candidate started the season off well in his first start allowing two runs in five innings in a win. The Reds are starting Luis Cessa. Cessa has pitched twice this season and has only given up one hit and zero runs. I think this may turn into a pitchers battle between Buehler and the Reds bullpen.
