At one point, not long ago, the Seattle Mariners were by far the hottest team in the MLB. They entered All Star break on a 14 game-winning streak, Which was an all time record for the longest winning streak heading into the break. But since watching their young star, Julio Rodriguez, absolutely destroying the Home Run Derby, it has been all downhill. They opened the second-half of the season with a series against the Houston Astros, where they were swept in dominant fashion. Lucky for them, they now follow up that tough series against a struggling Texas Rangers team. 

Tonight will be a hard fought victory if the Mariners wanna walk away with the dub, as the Rangers are sending out John Gray, who has been pretty decent for them so far this year. Through 17 starts this season, Gray has a win-loss record of 7-4 with an ERA of 3.48, and 105 strikeouts. His last outing was.Thursday Against the Marlins, in which he allowed only four hits across 6 scoreless innings. So he is entering tonight’s game with plenty of confidence, and that will translate into his pitching today. The Mariners will once again be without Julio Rodriguez as he continues to recover from his strange wrist injury that people believe he may have suffered during the Home Run Derby. Without him and his exceptional hitting, I can’t see the Mariners getting a win tonight.
