Chicago’s Push For The NL Central Title
The Cubs are an unassuming 59-56, and while that may seem an unremarkable record, Chicago is just 2.5 games from taking the top spot in the NL Central. The Cubs have had a great summer, winning 58.3% of their games over the past 3 months, giving Chicago a real shot at the postseason. Now the Cubs face the Blue Jays, who since 2003 they’ve played just 18 times, but with Justin Steele on the mound, Chicago is 13-3.
The Blue Jays are a solid team, they just play in a tough division. At 65-52, Toronto is 3rd in the AL East, but 5th in the American League. The Blue Jays matchup well against the Cubs, and while I expect a close game, I like Chicago in this one. Toronto has struggled to score recently, recording just 7 runs in 4 games against Cleveland in their last series. The Cubs have shown they can light it up from the plate, recording 6.8 runs per game in their last 10 to Toronto’s 4.0.
So for our Cubs vs. Blue Jays expert pick, take the Chicago Cubs Moneyline (-102) for Saturday.
