Ok, let’s get to our St. Louis vs Chicago prediction.

Chicago Stand in their Way

The St. Louis Cardinals are currently one of the hottest teams in major league baseball but the Chicago Cubs stand in their way. Typically that sentence wouldn’t make much sense as when the Cardinals are rolling there aren’t many teams that can slow them down, especially not the Chicago Cubs who are nowhere near the playoff picture. But the Cardinals had one eight games in a row and were stopped abruptly in a shutout victory for the Cubs and their first game of this series. That game was the first of a doubleheader to start the series but at the time of this writing the Cardinals have not had the opportunity to strike back.

Another hot topic about these Cardinals has been Albert Pujols’ quest for 700 home runs. It truly has been something amazing to watch as we see Pujols, one of the best to ever do it, hit 4 home runs in his last 6 games.

The Chicago Cubs have actually been a surprisingly hot and efficient team as of late as well. They have won 6 of their last 10 games, including haunting the streaking Cardinals in their tracks. Last week they went on a 5 game winning streak with wins against the Nationals, Orioles, and Brewers. Although not all those teams are great, it gave them the confidence they needed to defeat St. Louis. The Cubs will be sending out Miles Mikolas, to start tonight. He has a record of 10-9, with an ERA of 3.32 along with 118 strikeouts, so these Cubs can do the improbable twice in as many days.
