Cubs-Cardinals: A Rivalry For The Ages
The Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals will play their 12th game of the season on Saturday, which will mark their 2,499th all-time matchup. The Cubs-Cardinals rivalry goes all the way back to 1892, and is considered one of the oldest and most bitter rivalries in baseball. But despite the animosity, there is mutual respect from both sides. This season, the Cubs lead the series with a 6-4 record over the Cardinals.
St. Louis has struggled this season. They are 4th in the NL Central and 12th in the National League, 6.0 games behind Chicago. The Cubs have had a slightly more successful season, posting a 51-51 record, and while a playoff berth is unlikely, Chicago has a better shot than St. Louis.
The Cubs are coming off a 10-3 victory over the Cardinals, but St. Louis isn’t the type of team to roll over, especially against Chicago. They will come roaring back against the Cubs on Saturday, and with their skill at the plate, I like the Cardinals chances in this one.
So for our Cubs vs. Cardinals expert pick, go with the St. Louis Cardinals Moneyline on Saturday.
