The Saint Louis Cardinals are on a seven game-winning streak and it is quite impressive how they continue to defy the odds and lead this division. On opening day of this 2022 MLB season, the Milwaukee Brewers were a huge -180 favorites to come away with the division, and not much changed for a while. And yet now, with roughly 2 months left of baseball, the Cardinals are a huge -475 favorite. The Brewers started off the season atop the division for a long time. The Cardinals won on a 9 game-winning Shriek which finally took the lead from the Brewers, And although they gave that lead back for a grand total of four days, the Cardinals have now won seven games in a row, as previously stated, and have created a five game gap between them and Milwaukee. 

The Chicago Cubs recently have actually been playing good baseball as they have won seven of their last ten games, but that is definitely not a microcosm of their entire season. They have a record of 52-68 and have not been within 10 games of a wild card berth anytime recently.
