If you give this game a once over it looks like a game which will be a high scoring affair but there are a couple reasons why this game will hit the under of eight runs. The pitching matchup is anything special as both pictures have ERA‘s north of 3.40, but these teams haven’t been scoring runs at a high rate as of late. The Angels have ranked 26 overall and team batting average on the year, and 25th in terms of runs scored. Well the twins have been better which has them with a better record they have ranked ninth and team batting average but 15th and team runs scored. In the Twins last three games against the Dodgers which they lost all three they had two games in which they scored under four runs. 

The second reason is that starting for the Angels is Reid Detmers who has an ERA of 3.44 and his last outing Detmers (4-3) earned the win in Game 2 of Saturday’s 7-1 victory over Seattle, allowing one run on six hits and one walk with seven strikeouts in seven innings.
