Minnesota Twins vs Boston Red Sox (Tuesday)

The Minnesota Twins prepare to face off against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night. The game will be played at Fenway Park in Boston and will be covered by ESPN+. The Twins, haven’t had the season they hoped for and come into the game with a 54-70 record. Unfortunately, that record likely won’t improve in this series considering they’re facing one of the best teams in the AL East.

The Boston Red Sox had their number two spot in the AL East stolen by the New York Yankees and want it back. This three-game home series against the Twins is the perfect time to do so. They’re only three games behind the Yankees and this would be a great chance for them to close some ground. They come in as heavy favorites at -256 per BetOnline, but do they have a chance of losing this one?

Twins, Putting Griffin Jax On The Mound Tuesday.

The Minnesota Twins don’t have much to look forward to as this season goes on. They’re last in the AL Central and were recently swept by the New York Yankees. Needless to say, this isn’t the season they were looking for. However, they could regain some confidence with a win over the Boston Red Sox.

They’ll have a day of rest due to their final game against the New York Yankees being canceled. However, they’ll still be facing the third-best team in the AL East. They’ll have the 3-1 as a starter Griffin Jax on the mound Tuesday. Unfortunately, his 3-1 record is undercut by his terrible 5.11 ERA. For the Twins sake, he’ll need to be on top of his game when he faces off against the Red Sox batters.

Red Sox, Trust Tanner Houck To Start This One

The Red Sox know that they won’t really need a strong pitcher to take down the Twins here. Instead, they’ll focus on resting their better ones for the upcoming games. So far, Boston has done well but a recent string of games could have them worried. They were recently swept by their rivals, the New York Yankees, and struggled in their series against the Rangers.

This is probably one of the few times you’ll see a team start a pitcher with an 0-3 starting record and still be heavily favored. As they head into the game versus the Twins, the Red Sox are -256 per BetOnline, and it makes a lot of sense. The Red Sox have historically been the better team this year and even if the pitcher doesn’t perform well, the batters will.

Boston Vs. Twins Picks Today

If the Twins had any upside heading into this game we might’ve been able to give them this one. However, they’re the worse batting team, the worse pitching team, and lost the last series 3-1. Unfortunately for them, this just isn’t the year for Minnesota and until they address the pitching concerns, they’ll continue to be one of the worse teams in MLB. The Red Sox know they need to get back on track and put a string of wins together. Them facing off against the Twins is a perfect time for that. The Red Sox have a strong batting group that can take advantage of the starting pitcher, and they know they need a win. We expect the Boston Red Sox to take this one handily.
