Boston Hosts The Dodgers in a Rare Matchup

The LA Dodgers are sitting comfortably atop the NL West standings at 76-48. The Dodgers hold an 11.5 game lead over the division, making them a near guarantee to be in the playoffs. The Dodgers have been fantastic all season, and after winning 8 of their last 10, LA enter’s this series with a lot of momentum. The Dodgers averaged 4.4 runs per game during their latest 10 game stretch.

The Boston Red Sox have only faced the LA Dodgers in 18 games all-time. The series is tied 9-9, yet despite the historically evenly matched series, the Red Sox will almost certainly be the underdogs on Friday. As underdogs, Boston is a respectable 35-34, so don’t write them off just because the Dodgers are 10.5 games up in the MLB’s overall standings. The Red Sox are great at the plate, recording the 3rd-most hits this season with 1144, and averaged 5.6 runs per game in their last 10.
