Now let’s get to our Toronto Blue Jays vs Tampa Bay Rays prediction.

Berries vs Yarbrough

The Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays are currently top seeds in the American League. That makes tonight a big game because there’s a 2.5 game gap between the teams, and whichever team wins the series will likely have the top wildcard spot. Tonight‘s match up well with Jose Berrios of the Blue Jays, and Ryan Yarbrough of the Rays. Berrios (11-5) earned the win Saturday, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings against the Orioles. He struck out three.

Berrios surrendered a two-run single to Gunnar Henderson to cut the Orioles’ deficit to one in the third inning. The righty’s last nine starts have been inconsistent, as he has allowed four runs or more in three of them and two earned runs or fewer in the other six. In addition, the 28-year-old has thrown six innings or more in six of those games and four innings or fewer in two. Yarbrough has been effective over two appearances in September, striking out four in 7.2 scoreless innings. Although Armstrong will begin Saturday’s game on the mound, Yarbrough should have the chance to see plenty of work in relief.
