Atlanta Reigns Supreme Over The MLB
The Atlanta Braves have the best record in baseball, standing atop the standings at 60-29. The Braves are the first and only team to reach 60 wins so far this season. Atlanta is averaging 5.61 runs per game, and leads the MLB with the fewest total runs allowed at 352, which is just 3.95 runs against per game. The Braves also lead the MLB with 169 total home runs, which is 20 more dingers than the next closest team, the LA Dodgers, and 66 more home runs than the White Sox.
The Chicago White Sox are struggling this season. At 38-54, they are 23.5 games behind the league leading Atlanta Braves. With a -67 run differential, the 25th worst in the MLB, the White Sox have failed to both score runs and stop their opponents. Averaging 4.15 runs per game, Chicago will be hard-pressed to overcome Atlanta’s defense on Friday.
I like the Atlanta Braves in this one. As the best team in the MLB, it’s hard to bet against the Braves, especially against the lowly White Sox. Atlanta won 8 of their last 10 games before the All-Star break, and win 66.7% of the time they play at home. Chicago was in a slump before the mid-season break, winning just 3 of their last 10, and the White Sox will not find salvation against the Atlanta Braves.
So for our White Sox vs Braves expert pick, take the Braves to win on Friday.
