However, the Atlanta Braves beat them 6-1 in the opening game of the series thanks to the pitcher Huascar Ynoa, who hit a grand slam, becoming the first pitcher to do so since 2018.

Jon Lester (0-0) will be on the mound for the second time this year following his successful display in a 2-1 win over the Miami Marlins. The 37-year-old veteran allowed no run in five hits over 5.0 innings, and now he expects to secure the first win to his name in the Nats uniform.
