Atlanta Braves Preview
The Atlanta Braves, a team right in the middle of the NL East, have had a rough time getting a streak going. Each of their wins is usually followed by a loss the next night, making it hard for them to gain momentum. This becomes tough not only on the fans but on the players. Morale starts to drop when you notice the inconsistency in play. In their last series against the Mets though, the Braves played incredibly. Going 2-1 in a three-game series is already impressive enough. Add onto that the fact that the Braves defeated the Mets 20-2 in the second game of the series and it’s even more remarkable. Since then though, we haven’t seen the same Braves team. They’ll need that magic again in the fourth and fifth game of this series if they want to move up to the number two spot in the NL East. Max Fried goes for the Braves in this one. He is 7-6 on the season, with a 4.47 earned run average.
NY Mets Preview
The Mets have become a more reliable team this season but still have their shortcomings. Much like the Braves, getting a winning streak going has been hard for the Mets. They face a familiar foe in the Braves but have no ground to give up in the NL East. The Phillies are right behind them and the Braves are not much further. The New York Mets will start the 1-0 Tylor Megill on the mound Wednesday. Megill has an ERA of 2.10, and his sole win was against the Toronto Blue Jays. We’ll have to see just how well Megill will fair on Wednesday against a team with a great on-base percentage.
