Much like the Atlanta Braves, the Phillies season was not going as planned until this big win streak of eight games for them, which has brought them all the way back up to .500, and if they can build off, this can put them in wild card contention. The teams they have beaten in this winning streak have been formidable as well. Aside from one game against the Diamondbacks, they swept both the Angels and Brewers in each three game series, and defeated the San Francisco Giants to start the streak. Now, while the Diamondbacks have been relatively surprising compared to what their preseason expectations were, this team still is not good and won’t be able to overcome the fact that their starting pitcher, Luke Weaver, is only starting for his second time this season, and his first start ended in 0.2 innings, where he allowed three hits and a run.
