AL’s two best teams face off in Houston

The Astros cooled off going into the All-Star break. They are coming off of a loss to the Athletics and have lost four of their last ten games. They are still 58-32 on the season. They need to keep winning though because the Mariners have won 14 straight and their lead in the AL West has been cut to 9 games when it had been 15+ for a while.

The Yankees have also cooled off lately as they have only won five of their last ten games. They are now 64-28 on the season and are at risk of being caught by the 60-30 Dodgers for the best record in baseball. They are coming off of two straight wins over the Red Sox. 

This is a great pitching matchup as Gerritt Cole will be facing off against Luis Garcia. On the season these guys have a combined 16-7 record and both of them have a sub 3.7 ERA. The under in this series this year is 3-1-1. I think that trend continues here with both of these aces on the mound.
