AL East showdown in Fenway
The Blue Jays have just been staying afloat lately. They are 5-5 in their last ten games and are now 65-55 on the season. They are in a three-way tie with the Rays and the Mariners for the Wild Card and are eight games behind the Yankees in the AL East.
The Red Sox are 60-62 on the season. They are coming off of a 5-3 loss to the Orioles in Baltimore. Their season is not over; they are only six games out of the Wild Card.
The Blue Jays will have Ross Stripling on the mound as he goes up against Josh Winckowski. Winckowski has not been good lately as he has an ERA of 5.74 in three starts in the month of August. Stripling on the other hand, has been great lately as in his first start back from a short hiatus he took a perfect game into the seventh inning against the Orioles. Boston has hit Stripling ok this year as he has given up five runs in 14 innings pitched to them this year. I think these offense are going to have a field day here.
