A Highly Anticipated AL West Showdown

The Seattle Mariners are gearing up to face the Houston Astros for their 3rd series of the season. The Mariners are currently 3rd in the AL West with a 66-55 record, while the Astros are 2nd in the division with a 70-52 record. Houston may be 3.5 games up on Seattle, but it’s the Mariners who have the advantage over the Astros head-to-head. Seattle is 5-2 against Houston this season, and have held the Astros to just 1 run in 4 out of their 7 matchups. 

I like the Mariners in this one. Seattle has been great against the Astros, averaging 4.8 runs, 8.7 hits, 0.7 home runs, and have only allowed 18 total runs through 7 games against Houston. It will be a close game, as both Seattle and Houston are in fine form with a 7-3 record in their last 10 games, but the Mariners bullpen is slightly stronger than Houston’s, and Seattle’s defense will carry them through this highly impactful divsional series.
