Ok, let’s get to our Seattle vs Los Angeles prediction.  

Tonight we have a great pitching matchup between one team fighting for a wildcard spot and another who is fighting not to be last place in their division. The Seattle Mariners currently have the second wildcard spot in the American League with a record of 62-54. They are half a game behind the Blue Jays for the first wild card spot. That likely would be the best position they will be able to finish in as they’re in the same division as the Houston Astros. The Astros currently have a 13 game lead on the Mariners and have 14 games in a row so Seattle has likely put them out of sight. 

The other team in tonight‘s game, the Los Angeles Angels, are fighting to not be in last place in their division as we stated before. The Angels still have a 10 game lead over the Oakland Athletics in regard to last place in their division but at the rate that this team is filing downward we wouldn’t be too shocked if Oakland overcame them. There was a time this season that the Angels were actually atop their division but that was a long long time ago. The one thing that the angels have going for them is that Shohei Ohtani will be on the mound for them. Honestly if you could only have one thing going for you a lot of teams would be OK with that being it. Ohtani is Easily a top three player in the MLB, has been an all-star every year he’s been in the league, and has a 10-7 record this season with an ERA of 2.68. And that’s not even talking about how he made the all star game as a hitter. 

The Mariners went into the All Star break hot, and they have played good baseball since then. They have played their way into the wildcard spot that they are currently in despite being out of it just a couple months ago. Unfortunately though the last 10 games have not been kind to them if they have lost their last two and five other last 10.
