Uehara’s absence is said to be particularly troubling because he was able to get hitters out from both sides of the plate. He was especially murderous against left-handed batters, holding them to a .169 average.

Boston goes with Steve Wright, the knuckleballers who is 11-5 with a 2.78 ERA. Minnesota counters with Tyler Duffey (5-6, 5.23 ERA). These two met up with each other on June 10, with the Red Sox prevailing behind Wright’s brilliant pitching performance.
