Washington Huskies Begin Their Highly Anticipated Season
The Washington Huskies will kickoff their 2023 season against the Boise St. Broncos. The Huskies begin the year as the No. 10 ranked team in the nation, while the Broncos did not reach the top-25 this season. Washington is a favorite to win the PAC-12, and are certainly expected to win their season opener at home against Boise St.
The Huskies are 3-2 against the Broncos all-time, but Washington has never lost to Boise St. at home in Seattle. In fact, Washington averages a 25.7 point margin of victory over Boise St. in Husky Stadium. With the talent Washington has at their disposal, the Broncos are in for a rough ride. Michael Penix Jr. is back under center for the Huskies, and the 6’ 3”, 213 lbs QB is poised to have the best season of his collegiate career. Boise St. is an impressive 6-3 against top-10 FBS teams, and if the game was in a neutral stadium I would give them a better chance on Saturday, but the Huskies are dominant on their home field, and I can’t picture the Broncos achieving the season opening upset over Washington.
