USC Visits Notre Dame For Historic Matchup

USC versus Notre Dame is an historic matchup in college football. The rivalry between the Trojans and the Fighting Irish goes all the way back to their first meeting in 1926. Since then, the USC and Notre Dame rivalry game has been played every year, from 1926 to the present. Notre Dame leads the historic series with a 50-38-5 record over USC. The Fighting Irish have the upper hand in the series, but last year USC snapped a four-game losing streak, beating Notre Dame 38-27, thanks to the Trojans Heisman Trophy winning quarterback, Caleb Williams. 

Caleb Williams is back under center for USC, and is looking to make it back-to-back wins against his school’s fiercest rival, and I like the USC Trojans odds here. USC is 6-0 and is the No. 10 team in the FBS. Notre Dame is 5-2 and ranks No. 21. The Trojans average 51.8 points and allow 27.3 points per game, while the Fighting Irish average 34.1 points and allow 15.9 points per game. USC’s offense outpaces Notre Dames, but Notre Dame’s defense clearly outmatches USC’s. 

This will be USC’s toughest test of the season, but it gives the Tojans’s the chance to prove they belong in the top-10. Notre Dame is 1-2 against top-25 teams, and the Fighting Irish are coming off a 20-33 loss to No. 14 Louisville. USC is better than Louisville, meaning the Trojans have a great chance to beat Notre Dame.
