The Fight For The Paul Bunyan Trophy
In a rather one-sided state rivalry, the No. 2 Michigan Wolverines take on the unranked Michigan State Spartans. The Wolverines are undefeated at 7-0 and they are considered one of the best teams in the country. Conversely, the Spartans are 2-4 and would be lucky to make it to a bowl game. Michigan is heavily favored, but over the last decade, Michigan State has won 6 of the last 10, including 2 of the last 3. If the Spartans pull off the victory this year, it would be one of the biggest upsets in school history.
While a major upset would be entertaining to watch, I don’t see that happening. The Michigan Wolverines are the real deal, averaging 39.4 points and allowing just 6.7 points to the opposition. The Wolverines play incredible defense, having given up just 5 touchdowns in 7 games. Michigan State is averaging 16.3 points against Big 10 opponents, and this Saturday the Spartans face the toughest team in the conference. It will be another blowout victory for the Wolverines, who will improve to 8-0 after this weekend.
So for our (2)Michigan vs. Michigan State expert pick, take the Michigan Wolverines to Cover (-24) on Saturday.
