The Bedlam Series: Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State

The Oklahoma Sooners will take on their biggest rivals this weekend, the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Sooners versus the Cowboys matchup is called the “Bedlam Series” and it began nearly 120 years ago in 1904. Oklahoma has dominated the football series, leading the Cowboys with a 91-19-7 all-time record. This season, the Sooners are once again favored to win, but the Cowboys could prove to be tougher than expected. 

Oklahoma State is unranked but enters the contest with a respectable 6-2 record. Oklahoma is No. 10 in the FBS with a 7-1 record, but the Sooners are coming off a 33-38 upset loss to the No. 22 Kansas Jayhawks. Earlier this season, Oklahoma State actually beat Kansas 39-32, suggesting an upset over the Sooners is possible. The Cowboys are 4-1 at home and are riding high on a 4-game win streak, averaging over 40 points per game during that same stretch. 

I like the Oklahoma State Cowboys to cover the spread in this one. The Sooners are the better team, and their win over No. 7 Texas was impressive, but don’t underestimate the Cowboys. This is going to be a hard fought, tightly contested rivalry game that will go down to the wire.
