This is the Saturday, September 2nd College Football report for the Akron vs. Temple prediction.

The game starts at 2:00 PM EST in Temple’s Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The Moneyline has Akron at +280, while Temple comes in favored at -355. The O/U is set at 55.5 points, and the Spread is +/- 10 points in favor of the Owls.

Temple Owls Open The Season Against Akron Zips

It’s not a top-25 matchup, but the season opener between the Temple Owls and the Akron Zips should be a thrilling contest. The Zips will represent the Mid-American Conference, while the Owls represent the American Athletic Conference. Neither team is projected to do well this season, but neither side will want to start the year with a loss either. Unfortunately for Akron, the odds are stacked against them. The Zips have never beaten the Owls, recording an 0-6 record from 2007 to 2021. Temple on the other hand is undefeated against Akron, and will look to keep that streak alive this weekend. 

Akron is looking to upset Temple for the first time in history, but let’s face it, the Zips don’t stand much of a chance. Against Temple, Akron loses by an average margin of 25.5 points. The current spread is set at -10 points in favor of Temple, which they will easily cover. The Owls may not be as dominant as they used to be, but against the Akron Zips, Temple will start their season off with a blowout win.
