Syracuse looking desperate

Syracuse started this season great and had sky high expectations after going 4-0. Since then they have dropped 3 straight being blown out by Clemson, UNC, and Florida State. They failed to cover the spread in all 3 of their conference games. The offense have been inconsistent this year mainly in the passing attack. They are averaging just under 29 a game which puts them at 70th on the season. The defense has been the stronger side of the ball but was exploited in these last 3 games. They allow around 22 a game putting them 45th in the country.

Virginia Tech has looked decent this year; they sit at 3-4 and 2-1 in conference play. In their one conference loss to the Seminoles they covered the spread. They are coming off their bye week and should be rested for this game. They started the season with losses to Purdue and Rutgers and look to move past those losses and get to 500 with a win here. The offense hasn’t been great averaging just over 24 a game putting them at 89th in the country. The Hokies defense has been solid holding opponents to 24.7 putting them 65th. Their pass defense is ranked 8th in the country but they can’t stop the run ranking outside the top 100.

Take Virginia Tech in this one. The Orange are sliding and it doesn’t seem to be stopping. They have been dominated in their last 3 games and can’t do anything right. VT has looked great for far in conference play and should continue that. Syracuse is struggling to stop the pass, VT just put up over 300 passing yards against Wake Forest expect another dominant night from the VT passing offense.
