Struggling Conference USA teams look for a win

Louisiana Tech has not had the best start to the season coming into this matchup with a 2-3 record and a 1-2 conference record. The offense has been decent and balanced this year with both passing and rushing ranking in the top 75 in the country. On the other side of the ball they have also been mediocre, ranked 84th in the nation in scoring defense. The one thing this team lacks is stars Turner and Bachmeier have both played quarterback and been decent but nobody has stood out. Shelton has been the team’s top back but does not get too much of the work.

Middle Tenn St has not had a great start to the season with a 1-4 record. Last week they collapsed and lost 45-30 as a 2.5 point favorite to Jacksonville St. This offense relies heavily on the pass ranked 40th in the nation but is atrocious in the run game ranked outside the top 100. They have been able to move the ball but cannot put points up ranked 115th in the country. The defense hasn’t been much better giving up over 33 points a game they are ranked 114th in the country.

Take La Tech in this game. The Bulldogs have shown some promise this year and the ability to win games. They have been mediocre on both sides of the ball but mediocre may be good enough in this matchup. Middle Tenn St has not shown anything that makes me think they can win this game.
