Spartans look to beat in state opponents
The Spartans were one of the biggest surprises last season as they were unranked going into the season. They finished 11-2 with a win over Michigan and a huge New Years Bowl win over the Pittsburgh Panthers. Their biggest loss will be running back Kenneth Hall who won the Doak Walker award.
Western Michigan finished last in the MAC West. They were 8-5 overall but were only 4-4 in the conference. They are looking to pull off a huge upset in this one. They did finish the season on a bit of a high note as they beat Nevada 52-24 in the Quick Lane Bowl.
I love the Spartans in this one. I think the loss of Kenneth Walker is being a bit underrated here. They are a well coached team as they proved that by giving Mel Tucker a 10 year $95 million deal. Look for this team to control the game on the ground and in the air.
