The Boston College Eagles head into this game with a record of 1-2 on the season. They picked up their first win last week against the Maine Black Bears where they won by a final score of 38-17. In that game, quarterback Phil Jurkovec led the Eagles and the game in passing yards with 320. He was also able to throw two touchdowns and committed no turnovers. Eagles runningback Pat Garwo III led the team in rushing with 78 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 4.6 yards per carry and was able to help the Eagles control the game. Wide receivers, Zay Flowers and George Tackas, both had impressive performances in that game. Flowers caught 8 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown while Tackas caught 7 passes for 66 yards and a touchdown. Aside from a great offensive showing, the Eagles defense also had a great outing. They forced the Black Bears to commit three turnovers. In this game against the Seminoles, the Eagles will need their offense to perform as they did against Maine if they want a chance at winning and pulling off a major upset.

The Florida State Seminoles head into this primetime game with a record of 3-0. They are coming off of their first conference game against the Louisville Cardinals where they won a hard-fought game on the road by a final score of 35-31. In that game against the Cardinals, the Seminoles starting quarterback Jordan Travis got hurt late in the second quarter and was out for the whole game. During his time on the field, Travis threw for 157 yards and 2 touchdowns but did throw an interception. He was having a great game and after he was forced out of the game, many thought the Seminoles would crumble. This was far from the truth as backup quarterback Tate Rodemaker had a great performance for Florida State. He threw for 109 yards and like Travis, had 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. The Seminoles were able to control the game with their rushing plays as running back Treshaun Ward had 126 yards on 10 carries. He averaged an impressive 12.6 yards per carry and was able to deliver for the team when he was needed. Wide receiver Johnny Wilson also came up big for the Seminoles as he had 7 receptions for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns. Wilson was able to use his 6’7 frame to dominate the Cardinals defenders and give the Seminoles the edge on the road. The defense also had a huge performance as they forced the Cardinals in committing three turnovers. The Seminoles have been playing great this season and with a win this week, they could enter next week ranked in the Top 25.

The Seminoles should take advantage of this game and handle business at home. In doing so, they should score a lot of points. Although Travis got hurt last week, he still has a chance at playing this week. If he is unable to go, Rodemaker proved to be able to get the job done. The last two times these teams have played, the total points scored has been over 48 and this game should be the same.
