SEC saturday heats up

The Gators have had a decent start to the season going 4-2 with both their losses coming to ranked opponents in Utah and Kentucky. Going on the road again doesn’t look good for Florida as both their losses have come on the road. This offense has been the epitome of mediocrity sitting in the middle of college football in almost all statistics. Mertz has picked it up after the week 1 struggle but hasn’t shown the ability to light up the scoreboard. On defense they have been pretty solid especially against the pass but will have their hands full with Rattler.

This team has not had the start they were hoping for. After finishing last season strong this team was expected to be a top dog in the SEC. They’ve started the season 2-3 with a close loss to Georgia and losses to Tennessee and UNC. They rely heavily on the offense who has been stellar ranking 14th passing wise but with an abysmal run game. The defense needs to step up. They have given up over 20 points in all 5 games and over 30 points in 3 of the 5.

Take Florida in this game. I think they will get over their road struggles in this matchup. The passing defense will slow down Rattler because there is no run threat. Mertz won’t light up the scoreboard but against one of the worst defenses in the SEC I expect the Gators to put up enough points to get this one done on the road.
