Purdue looks to upset Penn State to start season
The Boilermakers had a good season last year as they went 9-4 behind the arm of Aidan O’Connell. They finished the season with a big 48-45 victory in the Liberty Bowl over Tennessee. They look to build upon last season and open this season with a win.
Penn State started last season 5-0 and was marching towards a College Football Playoff appearance as they were ranked fourth in the nation. It all came crashing down though as they finished the season 7-6 and lost their bowl game to Arkansas.
I like Purdue here. O’Connell will be entering his sixth season and has the experience to beat this team. Penn State is on the road and is going into a very tough environment. Many say that momentum doesn’t carry over through seasons but I think it does. Purdue ended last season on a great note while Penn State struggled the entire second half of the year. I also like the under here. This will be a grind it out game between two Big Ten mainstays. Plus, a lot of money has come in on this total, yet this number continues to move down.
