Oregon State Beavers Take On The Golden Bears
Oregon State is having a great season. The Beavers are typically overshadowed by their state rivals, the Oregon Ducks, but this season the Beavers are making a statement. At 4-1, Oregon State ranks No. 15 in the country. The Beavs are coming off a huge victory over the Utes last week, convincingly beating then ranked No. 10 Utah 21-7. Oregon State’s only loss of the season came against No. 13 Washington State, but the Beav’s only lost by 3 points (35-38).
I like Oregon State in this one. The Beavers play solid defense, giving up less than 200 yards to Utah last week, and have an excellent rushing attack built around a talented group of running backs. On the season, Oregon State averages 206 rushing yards per game, and will run all over the Cal Bears. Cal is 3-2, but their only wins have come against easily beatable teams. The Golden Bears have lost 7 straight to ranked opponents, and only narrowly beat a 1-4 Arizona State last week. Against the Beavers, Cal will struggle on both sides of the ball, and this one could get ugly quickly.
