Rivalry weekend is in full force, and this creates some incredible football watching for Thanksgiving weekend.
The Big 12 still has a chance to sneak into the College Football Playoff, and it has two of the strongest offenses going against each other in a classic rivalry.
The Oklahoma Sooners will be on the road in Stillwater to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Both teams are ranked, and the Sooners still have a chance to steal a playoff spot.
All eyes will be on Jalen Hurts, as he looks to continue his bid for the Heisman Trophy and maybe a national championship. Let’s break down the matchup in this Oklahoma rivalry.
Oklahoma at Oklahoma State Game Overview
As stated before, this game will be another opportunity for Hurts to build on his incredible season at Oklahoma.
Not only is he one of the leaders in the nation passing-wise, but he is also Oklahoma’s leading rusher. A true dual-threat quarterback, it’s hard to keep Hurts in check in Lincoln Riley’s system.
On the other side, Mike Gundy and the Cowboys may have the best running back in the country in Chuba Hubbard. Hubbard has over 1,800 yards rushing and 20 rushing touchdowns.
Hubbard is the gear that makes this offense turn, and Gundy has always had one of the top offenses in the country.
CeeDee Lamb is Oklahoma’s big player in this one. Lamb sat out the game against Baylor but played last week against TCU.
Lamb was ineffective against the Horned Frogs, and it’s unclear whether that was due to injury or not. Regardless, he should be in full force in this contest and will be ready to make a huge impact.
With all of this offense, it’ll be interesting to see if the defenses can even have a chance to force a punt.
Oklahoma has drawn a heavy favorite from our friends at BetAnySports, as the Sooners are sitting at -13.5. Being nearly a two-touchdown favorite is a nod to how good the Sooners have been this whole season and how consistent their offense has been despite the one loss.

With all of the offense that is going to be on the field, I think Hurts will have a field day against the Cowboys. He will be able to move the ball with ease, and that is why I’m picking Oklahoma in this matchup.
Tune in to rivalry week and make sure you lock in your bets!
