LSU vs. Missouri: Battle of the Tigers

The Tigers of LSU are gearing up to face a familiar foe, the Tigers of Missouri. The fight between the Tigers will be a thriller, as LSU and Missouri are separated by just one ranking in the FBS’ top-25. LSU is 3-2 on the season and comes in at No. 23, while Missouri is ranked No. 21, with a perfect 5-0 record. Saturday’s meeting of the Tigers will only be the 4th game in history between the two SEC schools, but from the previous 3 matchups, Missouri holds a 2-1 advantage over LSU. 

The LSU Tigers are coming off a 49-55 barn burner of a loss against Ole Miss last week, where LSU recorded an incredible 637 total yards, but gave up 706 yards to the Rebels. LSU’s offense isn’t the problem, as they average 44.0 points per game, but the LSU defense has given up 86 total points and 1,132 total yards in their last 2 matchups. 

I like the over for this LSU vs. Missouri matchup. The Missouri Tigers average 32 points per game, and against a porous LSU defense that gave up over 700 yards last week, the Mizzou Tigers will have plenty of room to roam freely down the field. The O/U total is set at 65, and if each side hits their season average, LSU and Missouri will easily eclipse 65 total points.
