Kansas and Illinois clash

Kansas got a win in week 1 but it’s nothing to be proud of. They struggled a bit too much with their FCS opponent in Missouri State. A 21-0 4th quarter changed the score and didn’t show how long this game was competitive. They do come into this game hoping to get a power 5 out of conference win. Kansas gets Jalon Daniels back healthy as he was sidelined in week 1 with back tightness. He will be integral in this game.

Illinois also got a win in week 1 but didn’t look very good. They needed a game winning field goal to slip past Tulsa who isn’t a great team. Illinois is supposed to have a good defense to carry them but that squad gave up 28 points to Tulsa. I think this Illinois defense is a bit overrated and their offense just isn’t good enough to keep up with the Jayhacks.

Take Kansas in this game.  Kansas will be too much of a handful for the Illini. With Jalon Daniels bak fully healthy I expect fireworks from this offense. The Illini should be able to put up some points against  mediocre Kansas defense. In no way will they be able to keep up with the Kansas offense.
