It’s amazing how two weeks can make all of the difference for the top teams in the country. Just a few weeks back, we were talking about Wisconsin being possibly the top team in the country, and now, after back-to-back losses, the Badgers are ranked at No. 16.

The Badgers will be up against another ranked opponent this weekend, where they are home to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes. Iowa is 6-2, just like Wisconsin, and the Hawkeyes are ranked at No. 18.

Both of these teams still have a number of strengths to make them quality, so let’s break down the matchup between the two and help you determine your best bets.

Iowa at Wisconsin Game Overview

The Hawkeyes have played a tough schedule all season, and really, the Big Ten as a whole has shown us why it is one of the best conferences in the country.

Iowa’s two losses have come at the hands of Michigan and Penn State, and it fell in both of those games by single digits.

The Hawkeyes are much better than some experts are giving them credit for, and their frontline is as formidable as any in the country.

Utah-at-Arizona

The good news for Wisconsin is that they still have one of the best running backs in the country in Jonathan Taylor. Iowa was able to hold Michigan in check, but in the Wolverines’ matchup against Wisconsin, the Badgers were able to dominate Michigan on both sides of the ball and win the trenches.

Taylor is poised for a big game, and I think he helps increase the gap in this spread along with the home-field advantage that Wisconsin will have in this game. Our friends at BetAnySports have the Badgers favored at home in this contest at -8.5.

Being more than a touchdown favorite against a ranked opponent after back-to-back losses is a risky proposition. Iowa has trouble putting a lot of points on the board, and it really prefers to slug games out, but Wisconsin with Taylor will be able to thrive in that scenario and find loads of success running the football.

Even though the Iowa defense has been tough all season, I can’t wrap my head around Wisconsin losing three games in a row. Having the Badger faithful jump around will rally the troops after two games on the road.

Take Wisconsin in this matchup and bet on the legs of Taylor making a huge impact in this contest.
