The Uconn Huskies travel to Utah to play against the Aggies at Maverik Stadium on August 27th at 4:00 pm. This game will be the first time both of these teams play against each other since 2001. The Aggies were able to come out on top in their last game, winning by a final score of 38-31. Utah State is coming off an impressive season and will look to have similar success this year and will be able to start off hot against the Huskies. The Utah State Aggies finished last season as the 24th ranked team with a record of 11-3 and were the first seed in the Mountain West – Mountain division. They had a conference record of 6-2 and ended their season with an important victory against the Oregon State Beavers in the LA Bowl. Last season, quarterback, Logan Bonner, led the team in passing yards after throwing for 3,628 yards. He was also able to throw for 36 touchdowns. Bonner is heading into his Senior year and should be able to put up better numbers for Aggies this season. Wide receiver, Deven  Thompkins, led the team in receiving yards, having recorded 1,704 yards on 102 catches, averaging 16.7 yards per reception. Unfortunately for the Aggies, Thompkins is currently in the NFL and plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Second to him in receiving yards last year was wide receiver, Brandon Bowling, having recorded 835 yards on 56 catches, averaging 14.9 yards per reception. The Aggies have both Bonner and Bowling on the roster heading into this season and they should be able to have a lot of success together. 

The Uconn Huskies finished last season with an abysmal record of 1-11 and were the last seed in the Independent division. They won their first game last year against Yale, by a final score of 21-15. The Huskies as a team don’t have any players that catch the eye. This game will be used for the Aggies to get ready for their next game against Alabama. Should the Huskies win this game it will be a result of a miracle. Last season, quarterback Steven Krajewski, threw for 1,217 yards but threw 7 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Tyler Phommachanh appears to be the starting quarterback for the Huskies and will be looking to put up better numbers than Krajewski on the season. 

In this game, there will be a lot of points scored by the Aggies. The Aggies will absolutely dominate the Huskies as their team is vastly better. They are mainly focused on their game against Alabama next week and will probably use this game to test out new plays. This game can be compared to David vs Goliath, where David really has no chance.
