Cajuns look to become bowl eligible 

Southern Miss has been terrible this year and look to pick up their first road win in this matchup. They are 2-7 on the year with their only wins coming against Alcorn State and Lousianna-Monroe. They are coming off a win and look to build off that momentum. Southern Miss offense has not been great this year, only averaging 23 a game. On the other side of the ball they have been terrible giving up 36 points per game on the year. Louisiana has never beaten the Golden Eagles with their all time matchup sitting at 0-9.

The Ragin Cajuns are having a decent season sitting 1 game above 500 at 5-4 on the year. They do have a losing record in the Sun Belt at 2-3 and they’ll look to even it out in this matchup. They are coming off a loss but a win here will push them into bowl eligibility. Louisiana offense has been pretty good this year averaging 31.1 points per game which puts them towards the top of the conference. The defense is this team’s weakness allowing 28 points per game. The Cajuns lost starting quarterback Zeon Chriss which will make this a tough one.

Take Southern Miss in this one. Neither of these teams have been that great but Southern Miss has been bad. With the loss of starting quarterback Chriss for the Rajin Cajuns I think the Golden Eagles can make this a close one.
