Bulldogs Look to Remain Undefeated

Georgia vs Mississippi

The new number one-ranked Georgia Bulldogs look to remain undefeated as they take on Mississippi State on November 12 at 6 PM CST. The Bulldogs are 9-0 on the season, ranked number one in the country and the SEC East. Mississippi State sits unranked with a record of 6-3 and sits fourth in the SEC West. Georgia is highly favored in this game. The odds currently sit at Georgia (-800) and Mississippi State at (+550). The over/under is 53.5, and the spread is -16.5  Georgia. The last time these teams played one another, there was a final score of 31-24 in favor of Georgia.

Georgia is coming off a significant win against the former number 1 team Tessnese. They look imposing as they beat Tessnese by a score of 27-13. Senior quarterback Stetson Bennet led the offense by throwing 257 yards and two touchdowns. Georgia continues to have an imposing defense led by three potential first-round picks. Defensive lineman Jalen Carter, cornerback Kelee Ringo, and edge rusher Nolan Smith all hope to leave their mark on this game. However, Jalen Carter is currently Questionable in this game and has not practiced all week due to a knee injury. Last time out, the Georgia Defense was able to hold the number one offense to 13 points, the lowest Tennesse scored all season.

The Georgia defense is the  number 5th ranked defense, allowing 265.4 yards per game and only giving up eight touchdowns on the season. Georgia’s offense has also been spectacular all season. They have the number 3rd ranked offense in the nation, scoring 44 touchdowns all year and having an average of 514.2 yards per game. Georgia has only played one game this year where the win was less than 10 points, which came against unranked Missouri with a final score of 26-22. Through all their victories, they have won by an average score of 29.33.

Georgia vs Mississippi State Odds, Picks & Predictions - NCAAF Week 11

Mississippi State has a year better than expected, with a record of 6-3. However, they have yet to beat a ranked team. They played number 7 LSU, losing 31-16, and number 10 Alabama by 30-6. They are coming off a high-scoring overtime win against 3-6 Auburn. Junior quarterback Will Rogers led the offense this game, throwing for 357 yards and three touchdowns. Mississippi currently ranks number 61 in offense, with 36 touchdowns and 406.2 yards per game.

They do have a better-ranked defense,  being ranked number 46 in the nation with 360.8 allowed yards per game and giving up 28 touchdowns. Mississippi State does not like to run the ball. Junior runningback Jo’quavious Marks ran for a touchdown against auburn; however, he only ran the ball seven times the whole game for 47 yards. Throwing the ball is going to be essential for Mississippi State. Georgia is ranked number 6 in run defense, giving up 86.4 yards per game. However, they are ranked 14th in the nation in passing defense, giving up 179.1 yards per game. Mississippi State loves to throw the ball. Last game, they threw the ball 59 times.

It is going to be hard for Mississippi State to win this game. Georgia is a good team, with eight of their nine wins this year double-digit wins. Mississippi State has played two ranked teams, losing an average of 19.5. Every ranked team has blown out Mississippi State that they have played, and Mississippi State is playing one of the best college football teams we have ever seen. I am shocked that the spread is not higher than 16.5. Take Georgia -16.5
