Big 12 newbies battle
Cincinnati has not had the start to the season they hoped for going 2-2 with a loss to Miami(OH) and Oklahoma. This team is better than their record shows and should show that they have the rest of the season. The offense has looked good, ranked 35th in the nation in total offense but just couldn’t seem to finish off drives last week. On the other side the defense has also been good, ranked 46th and showed that by keeping the Sooners offense to just 20 points.
BYU has started the season well with 3 solid wins and a loss to a ranked Kansas squad. This is their first home game as a member of the Big 12 and the Cougars would love a win. This offense has not been great this year ranked outside the top 100 in total offense with an abysmal rushing attack that only put up 9 yards last week. On the other side of the ball the Courgar have been great, ranked 30th in total defense with one of the better pass defenses in the country.
Take Cincinnati in this game. The Bearcats held a high powered Oklahoma offense to just 20 points. Now they face a terrible offense with possibly the worst rushing attack in the country. I don’t see a world where BYU puts up enough points to take down Cincinnati. The Bearcats offense hasn’t been electrifying but will be able to move the ball even against a solid BYU defense.
