The final weekend of college football in the month of October sets the plate for the first official College Football Playoff rankings of the season on Oct. 31. Both the AP Top 25 and the Coaches Poll are in agreement over the top four teams in the nation right now in their latest rankings.

The SEC’s Alabama Crimson Tide remain the No. 1 team in the nation heading into this week’s bye at a perfect 8-0 straight-up with a 5-3 record against the spread. They will face the No. 4 LSU Tigers in a huge SEC West Division showdown on Saturday, Nov. 3. The Tigers (7-1 SU, 5-3 ATS) are also off this week in anticipation of playing host to Alabama next Saturday in the biggest game of the year in the college ranks.

The ACC’s Clemson Tigers moved into the second spot in each poll with last Saturday’s 41-7 pasting of then-No. 16 North Carolina State. The Tigers are 7-0 SU with a 3-4 record ATS. They will be on the road this Saturday as 17-point favorites against rival Florida State in a 12 p.m. kickoff on ABC.

BetAnySports has set the total line for this conference clash at 51 points. The Seminoles have won nine of their last 11 home games against Clemson SU.

Rounding out the top four teams in the national rankings is the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 7-0 SU and 4-3 ATS. They are coming off a bye to face Navy on the road this Saturday at 8 p.m. on CBS. The Irish are listed as heavy 23.5-point favorites with the total line set at 54.5 points on OnlineSportBet’ board. Notre Dame has won six of the last seven meetings SU, but Navy has been able to cover in four of the last five games between the two.

A few other teams in this mix for a possible spot in the four-team playoff field are Big Ten’s Michigan Wolverines at No. 5 and the Big 12’s No.6-ranked Texas Longhorns.

The SEC’s No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs are still in the mix even with the loss to LSU a few weeks ago. They will play host to the No. 9 Florida Gators this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on CBS. The Bulldogs have been opened as seven-point favorites with the total set at 51.5 points. Georgia has a 14-6 SU edge in the last 20 games between these two SEC East Division rivals.
