Some shake ups from the first round of college football games in the month of October sets the stage for a few big showdowns on this Saturday’s betting board at BetAnySports. The new AP Top 25 rankings have been released and while the four teams in the nation at the top of the list held their ground, there were a few big moves in either direction.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish at No. 5 have moved into prime position to challenge those top four teams for a spot in this season’s College Football Playoff. They remained perfect on the year at 6-0 straight-up with a convincing 45-23 victory against Virginia Tech on Saturday as 6.5-point road favorites. They have now covered in their last three games as part of a 4-2 record against the spread. The total has gone OVER in Notre Dame’s last three games.

This Saturday, the Irish will play host to the ACC’s Pittsburgh Panthers as 21-point favorites in a slated 2:30 p.m. start on NBC from South Bend. Notre Dame is 4-1 SU in the last five meetings and it has a 5-2 SU record in its last seven home games against the Panthers.

The SEC’s LSU Tigers dropped eight spots to No. 13 in the latest AP poll coming off Saturday’s 27-19 loss to Florida as slight one-point road favorites. This snapped a SU five-game winning streak that included wins against Miami (FL) and Auburn as underdogs. This Saturday, LSU will be at home as a seven-point underdog at BetAnySports against the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs. Game time from Tiger Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m. on CBS. The Bulldogs have won four of the last six meetings SU, but the Tigers have a 5-3-1 edge ATS in the last nine

The Big 12’s Texas Longhorns made the biggest move in the standings to No. 9 after beating Oklahoma 48-45 as seven-point underdogs. They are 5-1 SU with an even 3-3 record ATS. Texas faces the Baylor Bears this Saturday as a 16-point favorite at home in a 3:30 p.m. start at Texas Memorial Stadium on ESPN. The Longhorns have gone 10-2 SU in its last 12 home games against the Bears, but Baylor does have a 4-1 edge ATS in its last five road games against Texas.
