The first official College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Oct. 31 ahead of a huge Saturday of betting action at BetAnySports. The Week 10 slate features the biggest game of the year with major playoff implications along with a few other key head-to-head matchups between nationally ranked teams that could have a big impact on the next CFP rankings.

No one should be surprised that the SEC’s Alabama Crimson Tide have been the top team in the nation all season long with both major polls. They should also be No. 1 in the first CFP rankings this Saturday when they go on the road to face the West Division rival LSU Tigers as the No. 4 team in the country. The Tide have closed as 22-point favorites or higher in each game of their 8-0 straight-up start and they have been able to cover in five of those contests. They have been opened as 14-point road favorites for Saturday’s 8 p.m. kickoff at Tiger Stadium on CBS. Alabama has gone 8-3-1 against the spread in its last 12 road games against LSU (7-1 SU, 5-3 ATS).

As a warm up for this heated showdown, the No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs will go on the road as 9.5-point favorites in Saturday’s SEC East Division showdown against the upstart No.11 Kentucky Wildcats, who have gone 7-1 SU (4-4 ATS) in their first eight games. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on CBS.

The Bulldogs may have worked their way back into playoff contention following an earlier loss to LSU with last Saturday’s win at home against No. 13 Florida. They are also 7-1 SU with an even 4-4 record ATS. Georgia has won its last five meetings against the Wildcats both SU and ATS.

Another team trying to stay in playoff contention is the No. 5 Michigan Wolverines playing host to No. 14 Penn State as 10-point home favorites. Kickoff for this Big Ten East Division battle is set for 3:45 p.m. on ESPN. Michigan has won its last seven games SU following a Week 1 loss to No. 3 Notre Dame and it has gone 5-3 ATS. Penn State is 6-2 SU with a matching 5-3 record ATS.

Head-to-head, the Wolverines are 7-1 SU in their last eight home games against the Lions with the total staying UNDER in six of the last eight meetings in Ann Arbor.
