The Number 7 ranked UCLA Bruins are beginning to look a lot like last year’s team that rolled all the way to the Final Four. The 14-2 Bruins are coming off their best win of the season over third-ranked Arizona and now will have to try and avoid a letdown as California visits Pauley Pavilion.
The Bruins have won four in a row and they are doing it with defense, holding all four opponents to 65 points or less.
That does not bode well for Cal, who have struggled on the offensive end of the floor all season. The Bears are scoring just 64.9 points per game, which ranks a dismal 291st in the country and they are one of the worst shooting teams in the nation, averaging a 49.5 field goal percentage.
These two teams met back on January 8th in Cal and the Bruins escaped with a win and cover as a 5-point road chalk, despite scoring a season-low 60 points.
The total in that game was 130 and the teams combined for just 112 points, so we don’t think the oddmakers adjusted this total enough tonight and we expect another slow-paced, defensive struggle.
