The North Texas Mean Green will travel to the Gallagher-Iba Arena to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the quarterfinal game of the NIT (7:00 p.m. ET, ESPN). The Mean Green will look to keep their run alive as they easily cruised past the Sam Houston Bearkats 75-55 in the second round. In the NIT so far North Texas has won both of their games by 10+ points. They have found their stride, now winning four of their last five games. They have a tough test though against this Oklahoma State team. Meanwhile, the Cowboys defeated the Eastern Washington Eagles in the second round of the tourament 71-60. Oklahoma State has alos won four of their last five games. Now, they will host a very good North Texas team.

With a 28-7 record on the season and a 16-4 record in conference play, the Mean Green secured the second seed in the Conference USA Tournament. North Texas won their first game against the Louisaiana Tech Bulldogs 74-46 in the quarterfinak game before losing to the UAB Blazers 74-69. North Texas has bounced back from that loss dominating their first two games in the NIT. In the first round they defeated the Alcorn State Braves 69-53. Then in the second round they took care of Sam Houston winning 75-55. This is where it gets tough for the Mean Green now because they have to travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma to play the Cowboys infront of their home crowd. The Mean Green though have been outstanding on the road as they are 9-3 as the away team this season.
The Mean Green have gotten production from a lot of their players this season. They have three players that are averaging double-digit points this season. Senior guard Tylor Perry has been leading North Texas this year, as he leads the team in points. Perry is averaging 17.1 points a game this season. Senior guard Kai Huntsberry is averaging 12.1 pointsand 3.1 assists (Which leads the team) a game this season. Do not forget about junior forward Abou Ousmane who is averaging 11.1 points and 6.0 rebounds (Which leads the team) a game this season.
In their win against Sam Houston in the second round, Perry had a monster game finishing with 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Oklahoma State Basketball
With a 20-15 record on the season and a 8-10 record in conference play, the Cowboys finished seventh in the Big 12 Standings. In the tournament they were the seventh seed as they won their first game against their inner state rivals the Oklahoma Sooners 57-49. In the next round they got smoked by the Texas Longhorns. In the NIT though they have been good defeating Youngstown State and Eastern Washington. Now they will host North Texas in this game. The Cowboys have been great at home this season with a 12-5 record.
Oklahoma State has gotten a lot of production from their players this season. They are led by junior guard Bryce Thomspon as he leads the team in points and assists. Thompson is averaging 11.9 points and 2.5 assists a game this season. They are also led by senior forward Kalib Boone who is averaging 10.8 points a game this season.
In their win against Eastern Washington in the second round, Thompson had a monster game finishing with 22 points. He shot 6-11 from the three-point line. Junior forward Tyreek Smith finished with a double-double scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. In the win, Oklahoma State shot 48.1% from the floor and 45.8% from the three-point line.

Plus, the Cowboys do not have a lot of offensive weapons without Avery Anderson III who was averaging 11.1 points before he went down. I think Perry has a great game and keeps it relatively close even though the Cowboys win. Oklahoma State wins 68-65 against the Mean Green.
