Matchup: Clemson Tigers vs. Arizona Wildcats
March Madness starts up again on Thursday with the Men’s Sweet 16, which will feature the (6)Clemson Tigers versus the (2)Arizona Wildcats in the opening game of regional semifinals. Arizona is making their 20th Sweet 16 appearance in school history while Clemson, who is not typically known for their basketball acumen, is making their 5th Sweet 16 appearance. The Wildcats are the higher seed with vastly more tournament experience, so naturally they are the favorites. But Arizona’s favorability is not without warrant, as the Wildcats have one of the best offensive schemes in the country, as well as several NBA caliber players. Clemson pulled off a spectacular upset in the 2nd Round, beating 3-seed Baylor 72-64, and had several notable regular season wins (80-76 W North Carolina & 85-77 W Alabama), putting the Arizona Wildcats on upset watch against the Clemson Tiger.
Below you’ll find all of our picks for the Clemson vs. Arizona game, including stats, scores, and advice. We’ll help you navigate the odds and provide helpful betting tips for Thursday’s Sweet 16 matchup between Clemson and Arizona.

Clemson vs. Arizona Game Predictions
Clemson will give Arizona a good game, but the Wildcats will walk away with the win, and Arizona will be the first team into the Elite Eight. Clemson is an underrated 6-seed, but the Tigers don’t match up well against Arizona. The Wildcats have some of the best scorers in the country, averaging 87.6 points per game, the 3rd-best average in the nation. In comparison, Clemson’s offense doesn’t even break the top-50. Another one of Arizona’s strengths is rebounding, averaging the 2nd-most rebounds per game in the country (42.5), which means Clemson won’t see many second-chance points.
However, the Tigers have nothing to lose, which means they can take risks that Arizona either can’t or won’t. Arizona hasn’t reached the Elite Eight since 2015, despite being one of the nations top basketball programs in the last decade. The pressure to win this game will weigh heavy on the Wildcats, and it could be too much for them to handle. Arizona is without a doubt the better team on paper, but in March anything is possible, and while I don’t think Clemson will win, I do think the Tigers will give Arizona a competitive game.
In summary, here are my picks for Clemson vs. Arizona Sweet 16 matchup:
- Moneyline Pick: Arizona Wildcats (-305)
If you take Arizona’s Moneyline (-305): You risk $305 to win $100, for a total payout of $405, if Arizona wins straight up.
- ATS Pick: Clemson Tigers (+7.5)
If you take Clemson to Cover the +7.5 Spread (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if Clemson wins the game, or losses by less than 8 points.
- O/U Pick: Over (152)
If you take the Over on 152 total points (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if Clemson and Arizona combine for more than 152 points.
