Michigan State vs. Kansas State

The Michigan State Spartans and the Kansas State Wildcats will play against each other at Madison Square Garden in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in the East Region (6:30 p.m. ET, TBS). The Spartans will look to keep their run alive as they upset the Marquette Golden Eagles 69-60 in the second round. Michigan State is playing some great basketball and is the last Big Ten team alive in the tournament. They will need to have another big game if they want to beat Kansas State. Meanwhile, the Wildcats defeated the Kentucky Wildcats 75-69. With both Purdue and Marquette out the Wildcats are now the favorites to make it out this East Region.

With a 21-12 record on the season and a 11-8 record in conference play, the Spartans secured the seventh seed in the NCAA Tournament. It has showed so far knocking off the USC Trojans 72-62 in the first round. Then pulling off a massive upset defeating Marquette. Now Michigan State is in the Sweet 16 with a chance to make it into the Elite 8, but they have to beat an excellent Kansas State team.

With a 25-9 record on the season and a 11-7 record in conference play, the Wildcats were selected as the third seed in the East Region in the NCAA Tournament. Even though they had a horrible performance in the Big 12 Tournament. They had enough big wins during the season to get the third seed. In the first round, the Wildcats pulled through and defeated Montana State 77-65. Next, they had a big matchup against Kentucky and prevailed as they won 75-69. Now they are in the Sweet-16. Kansas State has to be happy with the opponents they have left in the East Region, with Purdue, Marquette, and Duke being eliminated.

Michigan State vs. Kansas State Prediction

I love Kansas State here. I think it’s going to come down to the matchup of Tyson Walker and Markquis Nowell. In that matchup I take Nowell all day, I think he is a better play and can create shots for his teammates. Also, I think Johnson has a huge game in this one for the Wildcats. Plus, Kansas State has the better role players. This is a frisky team in the Wildcats and I don’t see them losing this game. I think Kansas State wins 84-79 against Michigan State.

Michigan State vs. Kansas State: The Kansas State Wildcats cover the spread (+1.5) and win the game outright (+110).
