With an 17-10 record on the season and an 8-8 record in conference play, the Owls are 6 games back of first place in the CUSA standings. Rice has been shaky on the road this season as they are 6-5 as the away team. Look to see if they can pick up a huge victory on the road against the Blazers.

The Owls have been led by junior guard Quincy Olivari as he leads the team in points this season. Olivari is averaging 19.9 points a game this season. Junior guard Travis Evee has helped on offense this season for Rice averaging 15.4 points a game this season. Junior forward Max Fiedler has done everything for the Owls this season as he leads the team in rebounds and assists. Fiedler is averaging 11.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists a game this season.

In their win against Western Kentucky at home, it was all Olivari as he finished the game with a double-double scoring 34 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Fiedler also had a great game scoring 12 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and having 6 assists. In the win, Rice shot 44.3% from the floor and 37.0% from the three-point line.

Offensively, the Owls are averaging 78.9 points a game on the season. Defensively, Rice has been allowing teams to score an average of 74.6 points a game on the season. Look to see if the Owls offense can give the Blazers trouble in this game.

With an 20-8 record on the season and an 11-6 record in conference play, the Blazers are 3.5 games back of first place in the CUSA standings. UAB has been great this season at home as they are 14-2 in the Bartow Arena. Look to see if they can continue their dominance at home when the Owls come visit them in this game.

UAB has gotten a lot of production from their players this season. The Blazers have three players that are averaging double digit points this season. UAB has been led by senior guard Jordan Walker who leads the team in points. Walker is averaging 22.6 points a game this season. He has gotten help from sophomore guard Eric Gaines. Gaines is averaging 12.3 points and 4.9 assists (Which leads the team) a game this season.

In their win against UTSA on the road, it was all Walker as he led the Blazers. Walker finished the game with 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Senior forward KJ Buffen also had a great game finishing with 16 points. In the win, UAB shot 48.4% from the floor and 43.8% from the three-point line.

Offensively, the Blazers are averaging 82.1 points a game on the season. Defensively, UAB has been allowing teams to score an average of 71.2 points a game on the season. Look to see if the Blazers high scoring offense can give the Owls defense problems in this game.

Rice vs. UAB all-time series

The Owls and the Blazers have played each other 22 times since both teams were classified as major schools. UAB has dominated the series over the years with a 19-3 record against Rice. The last time these two teams faced each other was earlier this season on Jan. 28th when UAB won 70-52. In the win, the Blazers were without their star player Jordan Walker. It did not matter though KJ Buffen had a monster game finishing with a double-double scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Senior guard Ledarrius Brewer also had a great game finishing with 20 points. It was UAB’s defense though that controlled the game, only allowing the Owls to score 52 points.

Rice vs. UAB Prediction

I love UAB in this game I think they have way more weapons offensively than the Owls do. Jordan Walker will have a huge game in this one as I don’t see who on Rice will stop him. Plus, UAB already beat Rice earlier in the year without Walker. Quincy Olivari will have to have a huge game if Rice wants to win. UAB has the guard play and size against the Owls. The Blazers win this game 88-72.

Rice vs. UAB Picks: The UAB Blazers cover the spread (-12.0).

Rice vs. UAB Parlay: UAB Blazers spread (-12.0) and over (158.0).
